Weeks 35, 36 & 37

Lots of baby prep has been going on at the Lazor house.  That coupled with everyday responsibilities I am dreadfully behind on the weekly updates.  So they are all getting lumped together.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: I weeks 35, 36 and 37

Size of baby: In week 37 he is a Watermelon (19 to 22 in, 6.5 lbs)

Maternity Cloths: Other than a few items, I am mostly wearing maternity cloths. Oh yeah and those maternity are not fitting so well any  more.  Wardrobe is getting very limited!

Gender: It's a BOY!!!!

Movement: He is running out of room in there.  More pushing and stretching then kicks and jabs

What I miss: Sleep and being able to move with ease. (I don't think this is going to change at this point)

Cravings:Nothing new same things repeating.

Symptoms:  Some swelling, reflux, lack of sleep.  Nothing out of the ordinary for as far along as I am.   And nothing honestly too terrible when you consider what some women go through.

Here is a pic of the bump in week 36 and 37.  Sadly it looks like I missed week 35 completely.
This is week 36 and was taken out our C-Bus baby party.

Here we are in week 37!

Had a doctors appointment yesterday 8/13/12.  2 cm dilated and 50% effaced.   I know you can't put much stock into those numbers but it was nice to know some kind of progress is being made.

His room is just about ready, we have pictures to hang and the recliner needs to be added. But,  if he were to come today his room would be more than accommodating.   Over last week I made 18-20 meals that I have frozen in our deep freezer and gave the house a good once over as well.  I guess you could say nesting has kicked in!

We celebrated Kevin's 33rd Birthday on Saturday 8/11/12 I am ashamed to say I didn't get a single picture of the Birthday boy.  It was pretty low key as far as birthdays go around here.  He golfed Sat and Sun.  We went to dinner at Ruth's Chirs Sat night for dinner, yum!  He got a few good gifts and we kept up with our tradition of baking each other our birthday cakes each year.  He requested yellow cake with chocolate frosting, which just so happens is my absolute favorite.  I think someone was being extra sweet to his very preo wife!

Well there is a little update as to what has been going on in our world lately.  Now back to waiting and waiting and waiting! haha!

34 weeks

Yep it's a week late.  Lot has been going on the past two weeks.  Hoping things will now be slowing down and I can work on getting caught up.  We had our family shower back home on 7/21/12 it was amazing and then had our friend shower/party this past weekend the 28th.   Hoping to do two big posts with lots of photos soon. Until then here are the stats from last week.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: I am IN my 34th  week

Size of baby: Pineapple (19 to 22 in, 4.9lbs)
Maternity Cloths: Other than a few items, I am mostly wearing maternity cloths.

Gender: It's a BOY!!!!

Movement:  He is still rocking and rolling!

What I miss: Sleep and being able to move with ease.

Cravings: Back to 1st trimester cravings.
Symptoms:  I've started swelling and unfortunately as predicted, the sciatica pain has returned.

Funny story behind the weekly photos below.   Kevin was working out with a friend of ours and he asked how I was feeling.  Kevin replied I was doing good, getting big. Some how the conversation turned to me reminding them of the Kool-aid man.. (All in good fun of course)  Well Kevin then asked if he bought me a shirt would I wear it....I  said possibly (not knowing where this was going yet) well the shirt he thought was a "must have" is below.  I found it hilarious, as did he.   Let me just say this was ONLY funny because I am pregnant....if he ever tries this when I am not pregnant it will not be as funny!

Our 1st baby shower is this weekend we are excited to see everyone.   Maybe this weeks Prego Highlights post won't be late and I can do a combo post.  But I wouldn't count on it!

My photographer was back! Yay!  Kevin had been in D.C. for a week of training.  I am very happy to have him home!

Week 29

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: I am IN my 29th week

Size of baby:Cabbage (17  inches 2.9lbs)

Maternity Cloths: Other than a few items, I am mostly wearing maternity cloths.  They are just easier.

Gender: It's a BOY!!!!

Movement: Same movement I've been having.  He really isn't a strong puncher or kicker, I get a few here and there.   He also likes to hang out low so I haven't had any rib jabs yet, but I am sure they are coming as he runs out of room.

What I miss: Nothing this week.
Cravings: Nothing new here either
Symptoms: Overall this has been a nice and easy week.

We had a doctors appointment this morning.  This was our last monthly visit, moving to every two weeks now.  She said all looked good and was on track, even my weight gain.  I really wish I could embrace this accept of pregnancy more but I just hate seeing that scale go up and up and up.   I know it's for a good cause so I am learning to go with it.  Still under the 20lb gained mark....for now! hahah

Here are a few pic for this week.  I took little man on his first boating trip with Aunt Jody and Uncle Jason.  It was a nice relaxing time on the lake with some of my favorite people.

This next pic is actually from last weekend. Kevin and I went to the food truck fest aka heaven to a pregnant lady.   Hmmm I wonder why the scale is going up?! haha we had a so much fun sampling the different food.  We are going to make this boy a foodie for sure!

And here are the 29 week bump pics.  Love the early morning "glow" aka puffiness haha.

Baby moon!

Kevin and I spent an wonderful week in Gulf shores Alabama for our baby moon.  It was our first time going to this location and I can say it will not be our last.

 View from our front door.
View from our balcony.

One of my favorite parts of our stay was watching the dolphins while having our breakfast on the balcony.

We rented a condo right on the beach called the Seacrest.  It had everything we could need.  The beach was gorgeous and the water was so clear.  Kevin & both agreed we had never seen so many fish that close to the shore.  We were blessed with great weather, it only rained twice while we were there.  Both times were either while we got ready for dinner or while we were at dinner so it didn't effect our day at all.  The only thing it did do was bring up some seaweed so the water although clear was not as "clean" after that.

Kevin got to golf twice while we were there.  I went out with him the second time.  Although it was H.O.T.  the course was beautiful and it was nice to spend time with my hubby out there.

We ate at some fantastic restaurants.  Our favorite find was this BBQ place called Moes.  It was a random stop into a whole in the wall but it was SO good!  We actually ate there twice.   Of course there was also lots of great fresh seafood as well.

For memory purposes the restaurants we ate at were.  Moes, Jakes, Sea N Suds, De Soto's and there was a Mexican restaurant that I can not remember.  We also had what I am claiming is the best ice cream ever at Scoops and some yummy beignets.**Edit** We also ate at the Oyster House, it was featured on Man vs Food.

As fun as all the above mentioned things were.  I have to say just getting away and spending time together before little man joins us was the best part.   We celebrated 14 years of being together while we were down there and I can honestly say each year it does get better and better.  I am so lucky to be with my best friend.

I think my advise to any soon to be parents will be to get away. Even if it's just for a few night you need that time to reconnect and focus on just the two of you.  I honestly believe you have to keep your marriage as your top priority or everything will fall apart.

Kevin is my rock!  He has been an amazing friend, boyfriend and husband.  I can't wait to see him be a daddy and know he will be just as amazing in his new role.

I think he said it best when we  were having an email conversation about being back in the real world. "After spending 192 straight hours with you and not wanting to kill each other I really think we were made for each other."

Here's to us babe and our new fun adventure into parenthood!  I can't wait to bring Harrison with us next year.  I love you more than you will ever know and I am SO proud to be your wife and grateful to be having your son!  Love you!

Week 28. The third trimester!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: I am IN my 28th week

Size of baby:Head of cauliflower (16in, 2.5lbs)
Maternity Cloths: Other than a few items, I am mostly wearing maternity cloths.  They are just easier.

Gender: It's a BOY!!!!

Movement: Our little boy appears to be becoming a bit more rough and tumble!  Those kicks and punches are getting stronger!

What I miss: Over easy eggs.  Been craving them for breakfast.

Cravings: See above.  Still craving snow cones.  But with it finally being festival season I think they should be easier to come by.

Symptoms: Acid reflux and back pain.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: I am IN my 27th week

Size of baby:Cucumber (15in, 2.2 lbs)

Maternity Cloths: Although I was worried I totally rocked the tankini on vacation.  One top was maternity and the other was not.  The maternity was longer and no belly showed.  The non let just a few inches of bare belly show.  I wasn't sure at first but Kevin said it was "cute".

Gender: It's a BOY!!!!

Movement: He has managed to kick the remote off my belly and I see  him moving more.  Very fun!

What I miss:  Same as last week.  While on vacation I missed my Pina Colada and being able to eat the raw oysters.
Cravings:  We found THE most amazing ice cream cone ever at a place called Scoops, while on vacation.   Peanut butter ice cream that they dipped in this amazing chocolate coating.  Blew DQ's coating out of the water.  Had it twice while on vacation.....and I now want it every day.
Symptoms: I just feel like a beached whale by the end of the night.  During the day I am good to go!

I can not believe how quickly this is going now.  Next up 3rd trimester!!!

Here are this weeks pics!  They were taken this morning.  I am hoping the early hour and rough day yesterday are contributing the the puffy face.  Yikes!

On Saturday my friend Ellen and I got together.  She is having her 2nd child, a little boy on Friday! She has an adorable little girl already.  We decided to have girls day out with lunch, mani & pedis, followed up by some frozen yogurt.  It was a wonderful afternoon out and we had so much fun.  She and I have been friends since we were in high school.   We went to different schools but had friends in common and then we went to the same collage until Kevin and I moved to Columbus.  A few years after we moved down here she met her now husband and moved here as well.  I love having her close by, now if only we could get together more often!

Ellen and I all smiles after our relaxing day out!

The bump in the 24th week.

Week 21 and todays doctor appointment

Two posts in one day! Look out!

Maternity Cloths: More and more maternity making its way into my wardrobe.

Gender: It's a BOY!!!!

Cravings: Nothing new.

Symptoms: I feel amazing. I've had a few not so great nights of sleep but other than that, I can't complain!

I feel like I look like a house in this pic! But as of our doctors appointment today, I have gained 8 lbs so far and apparently that is really good. I feel like the bump in the back is bigger than the bump in the front in this pic! hahaha I never have been lacking in the back end so I guess this should not surprise me! The song baby got back keeps running through me head! haha
Everything else looked great as well, B.P. was perfect, we found his little heart beat right away 138-140 bpm and over all we are right on track.

They gave me the orange drink for our next visit. Can't believe how fast this is all going.

Happy Monday to you all! It's been a great start to my week so far :)

It's a.........

We found out on April 9th that our littlest Lazor is a baby boy! We had our anatomy scan and he looked as healthy as could be. He was very still and well behaved in the beginning which made getting all the proper measurements easy. There was a student in the room and she took over for a bit. Well little man was done napping at that point and was all over the place! At one point she zoomed out and said "can we just watch this child for a second, he is seriously doing barrel rolls or something". It was amazing! We also got to see him hiccup...adorable! haha

We decided we wanted to find out what we were having just not at the doctors office. There are so many other things to look at, and take in that we wanted that moment to have its own special time. I had decided early on that I wanted Kevin to be the one to tell me what we were having. Us gals get to inform our hubby's of all sorts of news and I thought it would be fun to let him share this news with me.
Our ultra sound tech was amazing and was great about not letting the gender slip. She had us close our eyes, she looked and then printed the above picture for us and put it in an envelope.

After our appointment we went to lunch. As we were walking into the restaurant Kevin said for me to go ahead and he'd be in, in a second. I asked if he was going to peak..."maybe" with an evil grin was his reply. A few minutes later he joined me and I asked if he knew...."Yep" with another evil grin was his reply. I had made only one stipulation, please don't wait to tell me until the end of the night, like before we go to bed. We raised our glasses and I made a toast "to our healthy baby!" and Kevin added "to our healthy baby BOY!" I cried SO hard and was SO happy!
All along I kept saying I didn't care, and honestly I don't know that I really did wish for one over the other but a baby boy just felt right. We have had his named picked out for years, when we talked about our future children it was always "he" or "him". I am over joyed that the lord has picked my to be this little guys mama! I get all teary eyed every time I think about it.
We had a wonderful lunch, went and picked an outfit out for our little man. We hadn't bought a single thing for the baby yet. And just enjoyed the day together. It will honestly go down as one of my favorite days I've ever spent with my husband.

To tell our parents and siblings we mailed them this cute card.

It was so fun to drag it out for them! We figured when was the last time anyone was excited to get the mail?! The text's and phone calls we got over the next few days as they were anticipating finding out was so fun. And it was nice to feel the love, support and excitement everyone has for this little guy even if he is the 5th grandchild on each side.

Once they all got their "golden tickets" in the mail we announced on Facebook with this sweet photo of Kevin holding little mans 1st pair of shoes.

I love this photo!!
Well there you have it! It's a boy and we could not be happier!
