Kevin and I spent an wonderful week in Gulf shores Alabama for our baby moon. It was our first time going to this location and I can say it will not be our last.
View from our front door.
View from our balcony.
One of my favorite parts of our stay was watching the dolphins while having our breakfast on the balcony.
We rented a condo right on the beach called the Seacrest. It had everything we could need. The beach was gorgeous and the water was so clear. Kevin & both agreed we had never seen so many fish that close to the shore. We were blessed with great weather, it only rained twice while we were there. Both times were either while we got ready for dinner or while we were at dinner so it didn't effect our day at all. The only thing it did do was bring up some seaweed so the water although clear was not as "clean" after that.
Kevin got to golf twice while we were there. I went out with him the second time. Although it was H.O.T. the course was beautiful and it was nice to spend time with my hubby out there.
We ate at some fantastic restaurants. Our favorite find was this BBQ place called Moes. It was a random stop into a whole in the wall but it was SO good! We actually ate there twice. Of course there was also lots of great fresh seafood as well.
For memory purposes the restaurants we ate at were. Moes, Jakes, Sea N Suds, De Soto's and there was a Mexican restaurant that I can not remember. We also had what I am claiming is the best ice cream ever at Scoops and some yummy beignets.**Edit** We also ate at the Oyster House, it was featured on Man vs Food.
As fun as all the above mentioned things were. I have to say just getting away and spending time together before little man joins us was the best part. We celebrated 14 years of being together while we were down there and I can honestly say each year it does get better and better. I am so lucky to be with my best friend.
I think my advise to any soon to be parents will be to get away. Even if it's just for a few night you need that time to reconnect and focus on just the two of you. I honestly believe you have to keep your marriage as your top priority or everything will fall apart.
Here's to us babe and our new fun adventure into parenthood! I can't wait to bring Harrison with us next year. I love you more than you will ever know and I am SO proud to be your wife and grateful to be having your son! Love you!
